LIBERTY WRECK

The Liberty Wreck is a small Russian cargo ship off the coast of Paralimni in Cyprus. The ship was sunk by the Paralimni municipality on May 27, 2009 for the purpose of diving. The Liberty is located in the protected natural area called Protaras Marine Protected Area (MPA). The ship lies right on the seabed and is 37 meters long and 10 meters wide. Near the Liberty are also a large cross and a statue of Mary.
Particulars
The Liberty Wreck is located about 1 kilometer off the southeast of Cyprus. You could swim to the wreck with some difficulty but a boat dive is recommended.
Warnings
There can be pleasure boats in the surroundings of the Liberty Wreck. Take a diving lamp with you.
