VARESE WRECK
Croatia
The Varese was an Italian steam freighter that sank in January 1915 off the port of Pula, where it had hit a mine. The wreck lies between 33 and 42 meters and is in good condition. The Varese lies upright on the seabed. The bow, bridge and superstructure were damaged by the mine explosion; the steam engine is still reasonably intact. The ship is 60 meters long and 9 meters wide. During your dive on this old two-master, you'll encounter sponges, conger eels, scorpion fish and sometimes catsharks.

The Varese can be reached by boat. Descend via the anchor line to visit the Varese.
