Hawthorne Reef is one of the largest reefs on Palos Verdes. It's a dive site for advanced divers with beautiful reef structures and lots of species such as lobsters, crabs and large groupers.
Particulars
Hawthorne Reef is located directly off the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, at the end of Hawthorne Boulevard. You can't reach it from the shore. For that you will have to make a boat dive.
Warnings
At some parts of Hawthorne Reef old nets and hoisting rings can form a hazard for scuba divers. Be careful.
