EAGLE REEF
Verenigde Staten, California
Eagle Reef is a large rocky structure about 600 meters off the coast of Catalina Island. The dive site consists of a series of pillars that reach to just below the water surface. Eagle Reef is a beautiful dive site with spectacular fan corals up to a depth of 25 meters. The coral are, just like the many crevices and craters in the rocks, beautiful objects for wide-angle photography. Eagle Reef also attracts many species. You'll come across sharks, seals, blue-band gobies, black gobies and much more.
Particulars
Eagle Reef is located on the west side of Isthmus Cove. This location can be reached with a short, 20 minutes, boat trip. Enter the water and dive around the beautiful pillars and kelp forests off the coast of the island.
Warnings
Eagle Reef is suitable for all levels if currents are limited. However, the current can suddenly increase to strong. Take notice of the kelp leaves to determine the force of the current.
