Wolphaartsdijk is one of the most beautiful dive sites in Lake Veere. The site has a few facilities, including a jetty with steps and a small car park. The Wolphaartsdijk oyster reef is beautiful but fragile. Look out for sponges, shrimps, sea harps, starfish, green sea snails, comb jellies and much more. At Wolphaartsdijk, you’ll first reach a shallow plateau, which is also suitable for snorkellers. For divers, the drop-off is the most interesting part. It lies about 20 metres from the shore and slopes down to a depth of 12 metres. Further on, to the left of the entry point, there are a few pipes and a pile of concrete mesh mats covered in dense vegetation. From around 9 metres, marine life and colouration cease. Moreover, you’ll then be approaching the navigation channel, which runs relatively close to the bank here. Please take care.
