YS-11 AIRPLANE
Aruba
Approximately 300 off the coast of Aruba's Renaissance Island, between 12 and 25 meter, are the wrecks of two passenger planes, a YS-11 and a Convair CV240. The Convair broke in two in 1999 during Hurricane Lenny. The cockpit and some parts of the fuselage are still in good condition. The propellers, the fin and the landing gear can be found in the immediate vicinity. The YS-11 is just a few breaths away from the Convair. Dive through the cabin to the cockpit where you will still see the seats and the dashboard.
Particulars
YS-11 Airplane and the Convair CV240 can be reached from Renaissence Island or by boat. Descend and experience the unique experience of two carriers, completely at the mercy of the sea. Especially a look through the cockpit into the wide open sea, is surreal.
Warnings
