DE HEIKREKEL
Nederland, Noord Brabant
De Heikrekel is a shallow dive site near the Eindhovens kanaal in Nuenen in the Netherlands city. Diving takes place under a bridge, from the northeast to the southwest side. You will see underwater gardens, beautiful lights and schools of fish along the way. De Heikrekel is great for some nice underwater photography. There is intensive rowing, parking space is limited and the canal doesn't get any deeper than 2 meters.
Particulars
A small household stair is needed to enter the water of the Heikrekel. Place the stairs against the vertical bank and descend. Now dive towards the bridge to spot some fish between the bridge parts. Beyond the bridge the vegetation increases. All kinds of weeds and other vegetation form a beautiful underwater garden along the banks.
Warnings
Do not jump into the water from the side. There is intensive rowing in the Heikrekel, avoid days when there is a lot of rowing. Bring a surface buoy with you or provide a guide on the shore. Stay near the shore, that's the safest and the most beautiful. N
