CONTAINTER BAY
South Africa, Western Cape
Container Bay is a dive site with a rocky shore, kelp forests and sandy bottoms. It's a shallow dive site, with occasional turbulent swells, that is actually more suitable for snorkeling than diving. The name Container Bay refers to a shipping container that years ago ran into the rocks and has since almost completely rusted away. Almost nothing remains of the wreckage.
Particulars
Container Bay is accessible from shore. The site is located on the north side of a small bay. Park at the narrow, unpaved road that leads to the water's edge. Then enter the water at the entry point.
Warnings
Container Bay is exposed to swell from the southwest. Sometimes strong current. Dive preferably in southeast winds.
