Davis Ledge is an ideal dive site if you are like for schools of fish. The reef attracts fish in large schools, sometimes thousands at a time. They move perfectly in formation and form a spectacle that you can watch for minutes. Parrotfish, lobsters and eels are common species. Davis Ledge is also the dive site with the buddha statue. Divers stroke its tummy for prosperity and fertility.
Particulars
Do you want to come face to face with nurse sharks or a large turtle? That's another reason why you need to be in Davis Ledge. The first species is almost guaranteed, but the chance of seeing a turtle is also considerable.
Warnings
Davis Ledge is a SPA-location (Sanctuary Preservation Area). Don't take anything with you from this area. SPA is part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
