Duane's Release is a special dive site on Curacao. The story behind the name is about a diver named Duane Hendrix. Duane loved diving and touched many lives but in 2004 he died prematurely at the age of 21. A year later this, then still nameless dive site, was named after him. His ashes were scattered plaque was placed in his memory. Duane's Release has a lushly vegetated reef with characteristics of the two adjacent dive sites.
