MERIDIAN WRECK
Spanje
The Meridian is an old WWII mine sweeper, close to the Spanish village of Costa Adeje. In the seventies the ship was used for whale and dolphin watching expeditions for tourists. Now it's lying quiet at the bottom of the sea as part of the underwater world, where it's often visited by scuba divers.
Particulars
Enter the water from the boat. The Meridan is lying in upright position at the bottom, with the keel at a depth of 27 meters and the mast at 12 meters. The ship is 18 meters in length and deliberately scuffeled in 2005. Rays congregate around the wreck, joined by angelsharks in some parts of the year.
Warnings
The Meridian lies beyond the reach of new beginners.
