Wissenkerke Westnol is a tricky dive site. The site is has limited visibility and a strong current. Moreover, the large oyster banks close to the surface make entering the water difficult. Dive in line with the nol over rocks and sandy bottoms. The stones extend to 35 meters and are beautifully overgrown. Wissenkerke is home to many flow-sensitive species such as deadman's thumbs and peacock tube worms. What makes Wissenkerke most interesting are the rare species of algae and sponges.
Particulars
Park your car at Wissenkerke Oostnol in the small car park or along the dike and enter the site from the nol. This consists largely of oysters. This makes entering the water difficult.
Warnings
Wissenkerke Oostnol has a strong current. Only divers with sufficient Oosterschelde experience. Wait for neap tide and no wind. Take care when entering the water in front of the oyster banks, west of the nol. Don't enter or end your dive here!
