Wissenkerke (Westnol) is characterized by poor visibility and a strong current. Large oyster banks make it difficult to enter the water. Diving at Wissenkerke takes place in the extension of the natural pier. The stones of the pier run up to 35 meters and are beautifully overgrown. You’ll see a lot of current sensitive species such as brittle star, the dead man's finger, tubularia and carnations. Difficult dive.

Particulars

Wissenkerke Westnol is not an easy dive site. Vision is often limited and sufficient experience with strong current is an absolute mus. Park your car at het small parking lot or along the dike and enter the water from the nol, which mainly consists of oysters. The underwater scenario is basically formed by sandy bottoms full of brick stars and peacock worms. The most interesting aspect of Wissenkerke are the rare species such as dead man's finger and haliclona sponge.

Warnings

Strong current. Wait for neap tide and low wind. Be aware of the oyster beds on the west side of the pier. Do not enter or exit the water at this point.
