BATTENBROEK
Belgie
Battenbroek is an old sand extraction site in Belgium, with usually fairly good visibility. However, the number of dive objects and the biodiversity are limited. Scuba diving takes place in the larger of the two excavations. Battenbroek is a protected bird sanctuary in summer time. Diving is not always possible. Always register at Mechelen Waterski Club in advance.
Particulars
Battenbroek has a small parking lot right next to the water. Enter the water on the north side. Underwater you'll come across some tubes, with here and there some perch and chinese mitten crabs.
Warnings
Diving in Battenbroek is only allowed from 1 November to 28 February and only in consultation with the Mechelen Water Ski Club.
