Challenging dive site

Kattendijke, also known as Wemeldinge Parking, is the Netherlands' first 5 * dive hotspot. This means that various facilities have been realised around the dive site to make it as comfortable as possible for divers and fellow travellers. Facilities at the site include a heated sanitary building with rinse tanks and a barbecue. Kattendijke Parking is also one of the most beautiful and diverse dive sites on the southern side of the Oosterschelde. Whether you like galathea lobsters, crabs, starfish, sea apples, sea anemones, seahorses or brick anemones, you will find it all here. Dive east at high tide and west at low tide. Kattendijke Parking is not a difficult dive site, but sometimes it can flow well. The dive site is marked with the image of a yellow diver on the concrete platform next to the stairs.

Particulars

Kattendijke is located along side the dike from Kattendijke toward Wemeldinge. Enter the water via the stairs. It takes a 7 minutes swim to reach deeper waters when the tide is low. The slow reversal creates excellent conditions for al long and relaxing dive.

Warnings

There can be strong currents in Kattendijke. Speeding traffic on the dike!
