ZANDGAT NIEUW AMSTERDAM
Very bad visibility in the last weeks.
Limited visibility values: Visibility deteriorated significantly as a result of under-flow.
Lots of clutter (fish lines) on the bottom, dark peat moors water and try out again in the year.
Zandgat Nieuw Amsterdam is an old quarry, in which clay has been dumped. Dive along the clay walls, sand plateaus and weeded area to the north and along the tree roots on the west side. You'll see various objects such as a bicycle and a bathtub. The best spot to see fish is along the tree roots on the south side. The site has a drop-off as well, it runs down to 5 meters deep and is very pretty. Visibility in Zandgat Nieuw Amsterdam is moderate, but can be quite reasonable at times.
Enter the water at Zandgat Nieuw Amsterdam near the parking area. The bottom slopes down gradually. Dive to the right along the south side at 5 meters to see the clay walls. Stay at 3 meters on your way back to see the tree roots.
