Search for two Dutch divers in Scharendijke. Dive site closed

Yesterday evening a large search was held after two divers went missing in the Dutch dive site, Scharendijke in Zeeland. The search started around 22:30 with two lifeboats, a beach vehicle and a diving team from the Fire Department. Two helicopters from the Coastguard were also deployed. Up till now both divers haven't been found. We wish the search team and those involved a great deal of strength.

Diving in Scharendijke impossible

Diving in Scharendijke is currently impossible because the dive site is closed. The search stopped at 01.45 and will resume this morning. The divers probably made a dive on wreck Le Serpent. We ask everyone not to speculate on the facts and to keep an eye on our news items. Dive sites close to Scharendijke are: Koepeltje Oost, Koepeltje and Willems Reef
