SHIPWRECK POINT
Curaçao
Shipwreck Point is a deep dive site with the wrecks of two tugs at a depth of 50 meters. In 1884 the SS Oranje Nassau, a trading ship of the West India Company, also perished at this location. Only the kettle of the wreck is left, it lies between the Lions Dive Resort and the Curaçao Sea Aquarium. Paid diving, the use fo the Ocean Encounters facilities.
Particulars
Shipwreck Point can be reached from the Ocean Encounters diving school. You can also enter the water from the beach in front of the restaurant. Then swim out of the bay to reach the reef. The reef wall slopes steeply to great depths. Apart from the SS Oranje Nassau boiler in the bay, there are two anchors and a screw located on the reef between 20 and 35 meters. The two tugboats at 50 meters make this dive site also interesting for technical divers.
Warnings
