Aardappeldal is a dive site with beautiful overgrown poles, which are very photogenic. Close to the shore lies the wreck of the Ralph Creyke. Unfortunately this 130 meter long shipwreck has fallen under meters of sand after a foreshore reinforcement. Also interesting at Aardappeldal are the remains of an old caisson, which is visible above water, at low tide. Aardappeldal is a challenging dive site. It's very remote, currents are strong, visibility is limited and the turnaround is short. Take a 45 minutes dive time into account and always dive at low tide. is a dive site with beautifully overgrown wooden posts and parts of an old caisson. The entry point is marked by this caisson, which is partly visible above water at low tide. Aardappeldal has also many challenges. The dive site is very remote, the current is strong, visibility is limited and the reversal is short. Diving is only possible for 45 minutes. Dive here at low tide.
Particulars
To reach the entry point of Aardappeldal a high dune has to be crossed. Enter the water between the poles, where the remains of the old caisson can be seen. The Ralph Creyke lies close to the caisson, buried under meters of sand. One day it will become partly visible again as a result of the current.
Warnings
Beware of boating at Aardappeldal. Don't dive to far from the shore.
