Het Groene Eiland is a beautiful dive site in the recreation area De Gouden Ham in Appeltern, with lots of fish and a varied bottom. Diving is only possible via holiday park Capfun, Groene Eiland. In summer, the shallow part of het Groene Eiland is one big garden of underwater plants with lots of small fish. A little more at depth, from about 7 meters, are beautiful clay formations. Het Groene Eiland is connected to the rivier, Maas. As a result, marine life here differs from what you are used to at the average dive site. Look out for typical river species such as wolf crabs, catfish, marbled gobies and mud creepers.
Particulars
The entry point of het Groene Eiland is at campsite Capfun, Groene Eiland. You can drive your car up to the dive site with permission from the campsite. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the entry point.
Warnings
Dive site het Groene Eiland is a spot for sail boats! Always dive with a surface buoy. A surface buoy is also mandatory during boat dives! Paid diving.
