RED BERYL
Bonaire
Red Beryl is an alternation between sandy areas and coral reefs. The first plateau lies at a depth of 3 meters and is mostly covered with soft corals. This area is followed by a sandy bottom that passes over into coral, with a drop-off at 9 meters. The most beautiful part lies between 10 and 15 meters. You'll spot lipfish, bullet fish and occasionally a tortoise.
Particulars
Park along the road en walk to the entry point to enter the water. Than swim over the shallow plateau to the drop-off at 9 meters. The reef slopes down to 32 meters, with a second reef at 50 meters.
Warnings
Beware of kite surfers at Red Beryl, use a surface buoy. Support your buddy while entering the water.
