SINT ANNALAND 73
Nederland, Zeeland
Sint Annaland is a beautiful and popular dive site with some of the most beautiful bottom vegetation in Zeeland. The site also has plenty of facilities nearby. Dive over the colorful, gently sloping bottom full of marine life. It's also a site with great contrasts. Sandy bottoms and colorful vegetated areas alternate. Sint Annaland is the only dive site on the northern side of the island of Tholen. Cuttlefish, pipefish, hermit crabs, sea dahlias and crabs are common species. Sometimes seahorses are seen here as well.
Particulars
Sint Annaland is located near the port of Sint Annaland, halfway down the Krabbenkreek. This is a narrow, shallow channel in the Oosterschelde with a gradually sloping sandy bottom. Sint Annaland has three entry points. Enter the water from the beach, the rope or the stairs. There is an unpaved car park near the rope and the stairs at the Nieuwlandseweg. At the beach, park on Havenweg. Dive at the beach at low tide for the best visibility. The current will carry you back to the entry point. The rope and stairs are a lot less suitable at low tide.
Warnings
Sint Annaland's entry points at the rope and the stairs are less suitable at low tide. Both spots can be quite slippery. Fairway, do not make a free ascent from more than 6 meters. The area behind the dike is also a fishing plot. Choose another dive site
