STAVENISSE HAVEN 77
Nederland, Zeeland
Stavenisse Steiger or Veerweg is a beautiful dive site. In the spring and summer you will see the beautiful Japanese sea weed and the many kinds of small sea life that lives between the weeds, in shallow waters. In deeper water you'll see oyster, whelk and pout. There is also an anchor that is beautifully overgrown with plants.
Particulars
In early spring, the squids lay their eggs against the rocks. In 2010, they deposited steel slag and rocks as a reinforcement of the dike. The dive site is still recovering from that.
Warnings
It’s better not to dive here with a strong western or southwestern wind, because it’s hard to enter the water and the visibility is very poor then.
