Challenging dive site

Sophiahaven lies at a dam which is only visible at low tide. Dive away from the Oosterscheldekering, while avoiding the harbor as much as possible. Sophiahaven is only suitable for experienced Oosterschelde divers.

Particulars

Sophiahaven lies close to the Oosterscheldekering. Park at the harbor of the Roompot Beach Resort and cross the dike until you reach two breakwaters. Then enter the water on the right side of the right breakwater. Wade through the water to reach deeper areas.

Warnings

Dive at Sophiahaven only at low tide and with a thorough dive plan. Beware of boats at Sophiahaven. Use a surface buoy if needed. Professional fishing grounds. Strong tidal currents. Limit your dive to a maximun of 40 minutes to avoid strong currents. Don
