BRUCE'S RAPPEL
Bonaire
Rappel, also called Boka di Tota or Bruce's Rappel, is one of the most popular dive sites in Bonaire. The beautiful coral gardens of Rappel seem to have been landscaped by a dedicated gardener. Rappel is known for its steep reef wall that descends to great depths and is covered with the most beautiful corals. The name Bruce's Rappel originates from dive pionier Bruce Broker who meant a lot for diving on Bonaiere and passed away in 2020.
Particulars
In the past, divers used a rope to descend along a wall to reach the entry point. Rappel's name originates from this dangerous descend. Nowadays Rappel is a boat dive site. The steep reef wall drops down to great depths and is inhabited by all sorts of reef fish.
Warnings
Stay away from the shallow cave at the surface in case of high waves. You can get smashed at the rocks.
