THE CANYON
Malta
The Canyon is a shallow dive within the limits of open water certified divers. From a depth of 4 meters the seabed gently slopes to a maximum depth of 18 meters out from shore. Close to the shore the depth is maximum 10 meters. Same as most of the dive sites on Comino Island the seabed has various large boulders stacked on top of each other offering shelter to a variety of marine life. The rock formations are abundant, arches, swim throughs, overhangs and also a cave at 18 metres is just waiting to be explored. One can also find the remains of a traditional fishing boat – A Luzzu.
Particulars
Octopus are common here especially at night when they can often be seen in the open. It is a fantastic night dive.
Warnings
Some occasional currents in north and north east winds.
