WRAK DEN BOER 80A
Nederland, Zeeland
Wrak Den Boer is probably an old tugboat that sank during the war. It's inhabited by large lobsters, sea anemones and sponges. The wreck lies in parts on a sandy bottom full of peacock tube worms and is overgrown with brick anemones and tubularia. The bow stands well above the bottom, depending on sand shifts. Wrak Den Boer can only be reached at low tide, preferably around or at neap tide. The current, which can be quite strong, is then somewhat moderate. The wreck is sometimes a bit hard to find. You're close if you see black balls on the bottom. You'll be diving at considerable depth for some time. So make a good dive and gas planning. Wrak Den Boer is not suitable for inexperienced divers who are not yet sufficiently familiar with current and Oosterschelde diving.
Particulars
Wreck Den Boer can be reached from the shore. Use the steps of the second breakwater from Gorishoek to enter the water. Swim out at 180 degrees south, descend to about 23 meters and head east. Now dive over the bare, sandy bottom until you reach the mid section of the wreck.
Warnings
Dive on Wreck Den Boer at low tide, preferably around or on neap tide. Enter the water 10 minutes before the LW tide. Watch your dive time, be sure to return to the entry point at 100 bar. There can be a strong current at Wreck Den Boer. Do not make free
