Easy dive site

Reef Scientifico is located just south of dive site, La Machaca near Captain Don's Habitat. The name refers to a grid system that was once designed to study the growth of algae on the reef. The conditions at Reef Scientifico are similar to those of La Machaca. Both sites are wonderful for snorkeling and night diving. Permanent residents of this reef are morays and parrot fish.

Particulars

Pay the fee at Captain Don's Habitat for the use of their facilities. The staff will tell you where to park your car and enter the water. Reef Scientifico is a dive site with a healthy reef, beautiful coral gardens and a lot of marine life. While diving you'll also come across the remains of the scientific research that once took place here.
