The oil tanker MT or MV Hephaestus is a diving wreck off the coast of Xatt l-Ahmar in Gozo, Malta. The ship ran aground off Qawra Point on 10 February 2018 due to a heavy storm. A few months later, it was decided to repurpose the ship as a diving object. The Hephaestus was sunk on 29 August 2022 alongside renowned dive wrecks such as the MV Karwela, the MV Xlendi and the MV Cominoland. The wreck lies right on the seabed at a depth of 46 meters. The Hephaestus is 61 meters long and almost 8 meters wide.
Particulars
The MV Hephaestus is accessible by boat. The wreck can also be reached from the shore. The use of an underwater scooter is recommended. You will reach the wreck in 10 minutes.
