DIJKMAGAZIJN 41
Nederland, Zeeland
Dijkmagazijn, in Lake Oosterschelde, is an unknown dive site. What can you expect? Limited visibility and hard currents, but also an adventurous dive into an unknown world. The limited visibility is the result of a rather strong current, which also supplies fresh and nutrient-rich water. This combination results in a wide variety of life forms, including sea apples, sea anemones, starfish, butterfish, hermit crabs, swimming crabs and gobies. The bottom slopes down fairly quickly to a depth of about 35 meters and is partly covered with sea anemones.
Particulars
Dijkmagazijn is located in nature reserve, Plan Tuureluur. It takes some effort to get there. Park at the Inlaagweg. Then walk to the entry point, passing two fences. Now enter the water from the dike at dike pole 110. Attache a rope to one of the aluminum rings in the dike. This can be especially useful at low tide.
Warnings
Entry is sometimes slippery. Open or climb the fences and close them behind you! Use a diving buoy. The dive site is located in professional fishing area, leave the fishing gear alone and watch out for fishing boats.
