SLAG STORMVOGEL
Nederland, Zuid Holland
Slag Stormvogel, situated in the south of Holland, is a real wreck cemetery. It's one of the four dive spots in the Oostvoornse Meer (Lake Oostvoorne). Many ships were wrecked here when the lake was still part of the supply route to the cities of Rotterdam and Den Briel. Beside the wrecks there are lots of other objects to be found, such as a Volkswagen, a slide and much more. Just follow the tire track. There is also a beautiful canyon rim on the southern part of the lake where you can find fossil remains.
Particulars
Enter the Oostvoornse Meer from the jetty. You're in for a fabulous dive if visibility is good. Dive in autumn and winter to be sure of good visibility. Most historical shipwrecks in the Lake Oostvoornse lie further from the side and you have to know the exact location to find them.
Warnings
The Oostvoornse Meer has deteriorating water quality which can result in bad visibility and blue-green algae in summer time. Best visibility in autumn and winter. The use of motorized crafts is prohibited on the lake, the use of underwater scooters howeve
