ORION WRECK
Verenigde Staten, Florida
The Orion was sunk in 1981 as part of an artificial reef program. It's a tugboat with a steel hull. The wreck is quite battered. The wheelhouse broke off during Hurricane Andrew. The Orion is often forgotten because most divers seek out the larger vessels in Key Biscayne. Still, it's a nice dive site for a shorter, second dive.
Particulars
Orion Wreck is located about 5 kilometers off the coast of Key Biscayne in the southwest corner of the reef. The wreck can be reached by boat. It's a fun wreck to look at, but the reef is just as beautiful.
Warnings
There can be pleasure boats in the surroundings of Orion Wreck. Please be careful.
