Malta
Le Polynesien has a length of 152 meters and is therefore one of the biggest wrecks in Malta. It lies 7 miles off shore of Valetta at a depth of 65 meters. The wreck sits upright on the sandy bottom in one piece. Although it sank about 100 years ago it's still in very good condition, with many artefacts still on board. It's encouraged to take a guide. Only very experienced (wreck) divers.

The French Polynesien was attacked on 10 August 1910 by the German submarine UC22 and sank within 20 minutes, with the loss of 10 lives .Length: 152 m. Gross Tonnage: 6659 tons. Displacement: 10.300 tons. Passengers: 172. First Class, 71. Second Class, 109. Third Class, 234 'Rationnaires'. Propulsion: 1 Steam Engine, heated 12 coal boilers allowing a speed of 17.5 knots.
