TENT PEG WRECK
Malta
The Tent Peg Wreck lies in Marsamxett harbour, southwest from the barge Carolita, but it's a fairly unknown wreck-site. It's an old steel cargo steamer lying in a small valley. Very little is left of this pretty old wreck and it's better called a wreckage site. However, the vessel is home to a large variety of marine life and is worth the visit. So if you like harbour dives and are looking for a sheltered site for a good rummage, this could be your wreck.
Particulars
You have two options to dive this site. Either swim southwest from the Carolita barge or simply arrive from Ta Xbiex seafront. The vessel is know as The Tent Peg Wreck due to the large number of tent pegs found here, that must be all that remains of its cargo.
Warnings
Fairly well sheltered site but visibility can be poor. Be careful, the wreck is located in a busy yachting area.
